• Eco-friendly renovations and Eco-logical resolutions

As soon as we arrived in the village, having already been activists in Alsace-Lorraine within ecological associations, our choice was to develop " Ecotourism " there. It was obvious in the middle of this magnificent natural environment with an exceptional view of the mountains and the sea. In 2018, we started our tourist accommodation rental business with the primary objective of respecting nature, architecture, crafts and local trade, by anchoring ourselves in an approach of quality and environmental responsibility.

• Interior renovations :

This is why we started the interior renovation of this large Catalan farmhouse by reviewing the insulation as a priority and changing all the doors and windows for GROSFILLEX aluminum double glazing, by insulating the attic with rock wool; by completely repainting the building and modernizing it. Then, for energy savings, we installed 18 photovoltaic "solar" panels on our large south-facing terrace with at the same time a "thermodynamic ambient air" water heater coupled everywhere with reversible air conditioning with low noise and consumption (which mosquitoes hate and that's a good thing!). For water savings and quality, we installed several rainwater collectors, converted our large swimming pool to salt (double function of water reserve in the event of a fire), reviewed the waterproofing of the roof as well as our magnificent solarium roof terrace with NAMGRASS synthetic grass (choice of recycled plastic certified 15 years) lighter, more economical and ecological finally given the weight, the cost and especially the constraints of continuous watering for a green roof in the South of France. This ultimately creates better thermal insulation in the Tower by avoiding both humidity and energy loss in winter and heat accumulation in summer. Then we installed Aragon-SR Geyser water purifiers on EPIXEN-Bien-être (carbon filters) on each kitchen tap because of the increase in chemical chlorine throughout Europe by health authorities, especially during tourist periods and therefore the risks of nanoparticle deposits in city or country water, even if at the foot of the high Pyrenees mountains it is still quite pure, fortunately !

• Interior and exterior fittings :

For the interior and exterior design we have favored wood, avoiding electrostatic plastic and toxic metals as much as possible ; except in the kitchens where it is more difficult due to the radiation from household appliances. On the other hand, we have selected as much as possible low-consumption devices, natural materials (such as cork or bamboo, etc.), French and/or local companies and above all recycling. No toxic household products (we provide you with ours Ecocert), no plastic glasses, bottles or straws, even if we understand that our visitors may bring some back from their distant travels (selective sorting in our trash cans at the entrance). For the coffee machine, for example, we have favored machines with paper filters or with metal-free refills and for the barbecue-plancha, it is natural gas... The rest is electric thanks to solar panels and we keep the WIFI with routers for practicality for everyone (we turn it off just after midnight).

Thus, in a coherent and eco-conscious way, you offer a space of well-being and revitalization at Mas Natura can only go with the reduction to a minimum of noise pollution & visual as well as electromagnetic, in addition to the revitalizing contact of wood, salt, water and natural light.

• Interior and exterior projects :

Finally, for our other projects, we are still continuing the landscaping with our small orchard and vegetable garden in permaculture (obviously with zero pesticides since everything is weeded by hand or machines), a small chicken coop at the bottom of our large and long 2 hectare garden that we would like to rehabilitate as before below in a large eco-logical orchard and the enlargement of the terraces and balconies.

Furthermore, we always refuse and campaign against the installation of huge wind farms planned from Aspres to Albères which would further destroy Nature, local fauna and flora (mowing down swallows and pipistrelles, birds of prey and other migratory birds that prey on mosquitoes and other "harmful" insects, and also impacts on pollinators that are "useful" to farmers, diseases and reduced fertility of herds or protected wild species on land, underground or at sea, etc.). All this for more polluting wind turbines that are actually connected by km of cables, pylons and other energy-consuming electrical devices, made up of tons of concrete and ironwork, engine oil, steel, copper, aluminum (friction nanoparticles) as well as many other "rare metals" (lithium, neodymium, dysprosium, etc.) for the magnets, rotors and various other devices and computers, multiple resins and basal for the blades that are not really recyclable because of the glass or carbon fibers, etc. Very large masts and immense pales (more than 200 m high or more in altitude) which in addition to destroying our wild landscapes increase the risk of fire and accident in high winds. A wind turbine locks automatically from 90km/h (so often) which in truth makes them almost useless annually (load factor barely 5% of electricity production in France compared to 75% for nuclear power). But above all, inevitable noise pollution (from ultra to infrasound), invisible (electromagnetic waves) or visual (pulsing nocturnal lights and daytime stroboscopic effects) and therefore significant health risks including cardiac arrhythmia (also via disruption pacemakers or other devices), thromboses, phlebitis and other disabilities or fatal illnesses (stroke, leukemia, etc.) following other chronic and degenerative illnesses, shocks, accidents or cancers, etc. Significant impacts also on births and pregnant women, their fetuses and children or the elderly and physically and psychologically sensitive people, particularly through tinnitus and insomnia, loss of appetite, tremors, headaches, hallucinations, nausea and many other symptoms. other symptoms specific to EHS (Electro Hyper Sensitivity). As for the more energy-intensive 100% electric vehicles (nuclear, therefore illogical), if we obviously accept them here, we do not encourage them because of their toxic and flammable lithium batteries, their greater weight (wear on tires and brakes), always less autonomous than thermal cars (frequent recharges, overheating in summer and freezing in winter), etc. In short, much more expensive and polluting overall (composition based on "rare earths" & co, manufacturing abroad with more CO2 and less transparency, transport by cagots or trucks, etc.) but especially because of the km of copper cables to be buried everywhere to connect the millions of terminals needed, right up to private garages or saturated public parking spaces...: https://reporterre.net/Non-la-voiture-electrique-n-est-pas-ecologique

This is why, as you will have understood, there is no industrial & state eco-bobo "greenwashing" here! We speak the truth, we act truly and above all we remain eco-logical and coherent. While remaining respectful of the life choices of others of course! After all, everyone does as they can and not always as they want, nor can or want to change their pace of life, their diet and drink, nor their consumption according to their desires or possibilities, their situation or their beliefs as well.
